Maurizio Bortolotti new curator for the 6th LAM 360º in Mongolia

Maurizio Bortolotti member of the Hyphen Hub Community to be curating the 6th Biennial Land Art Mongolia (LAM) in 2020. Bortolotti will act as the chief curator within the local and global networking team. Title and details of the upcoming Biennial to be announced by January 2019. Bortolotti was Director of Research and Public Program of Shanghai Project at Shanghai Himalayas Museum in Shanghai (2015-2016) and curator of the Zuecca Project Space International Program in Venice (2011–2014). He curated exhibitions in many countries, focusing on the interaction between art and social processes on the background of globalization, investigating especially the interdisciplinary connection between art and architecture inside the urban space and its social relations. He worked as curator and advisor for several international Biennials, and in 2010 served as Art Commissioner for the First International Art Fair Art Gwangju made by the Gwangju Biennale. He was a professor and a member of scientific committee of the Media school at NABA (2007-2013) in Milan. He was visiting professor at University of Urbino (2003-2005).

LAM 360° (Land Art Mongolia | acronym LAM) is a biennial art festival located in Mongolia. LAM focuses on Land Art as a form of spatial visualization of the relations between nature, culture and social policies. It strongly promotes freedom of expression in joining people and institutions from all sectors of Mongolian society by meshing their respective backgrounds and perspectives through collaboration and networking actions of regional and global scope. By doing so, the organisation would like to incite an advanced discourse on cultural and social policy which will take up environmental and social sustainability with a strong emphasis on the most vulnerable sectors of society in Mongolia (such as: nomadic people | ethnic minorities | non-commercial cultural organizations and youth) in the broader perspective of cultural transformation in Central Asia. MNG 360° БАЙГАЛИЙН УРЛАГ МОНГОЛ is an Ulaanbaatar based independent, non-profit, contemporary art organization (NGO) with the purpose of raising awareness for issues as sustainability, nomadic culture, ecological decentralization and democracy by means of contemporary art as an impulse generator for civil society in Mongolia, with a main mission of promoting and realizing the Biennial Land Art Mongolia.
