Asher Remy-Toledo Director and Founder
Asher Remy-Toledo is the co-founder of Hyphen Hub, a nonprofit organization that, promotes and presents new live works by artists that integrate art and technology. Based in New York, Hyphen Hub showcases cutting edge work in a variety of formats and platforms and actively develops a global network of emerging and established multimedia artists, curators, innovators, thinkers, and producers of events with a strong focus on nascent technology.
Asher is also the co-founder of No Longer Empty, a New York-based nonprofit group that takes over empty spaces and creates site specific installations and co-founder of Latin American Cultural Week in New York. He founded and directed the Remy Toledo Gallery in New York and has produced numerous exhibitions including for Art Miami, Liverpool Biennial, and FACT Liverpool.
Anouk Wipprecht, Director of Experiences
Anouk brings to the Hyphen Hub team a world of knowledge and expertise in creating experiences that engage audiences from all backgrounds. She is a sought after inspirational speaker and a convener of brilliant individuals and organizations, having built connections and collaborations with a multitude of innovators worldwide--from visionary artists to leading companies such as Intel, AutoDesk, Google, Microsoft, Cirque Du Soleil, Audi, and 3D printing company Materialise. We share her passion for producing otherworldly and exciting live experiences and, through them, revealing extraordinary visions of the future.
Mike Stubbs, Advisor
Mike has been part of the Hyphen Hub community since the very beginning of the organization. He was most recently the director of FACT, the Foundation for Art and Creative Technology in Liverpool, the UK's leading organization for the commissioning and presentation new media art forms. In 2002 he won a Banff Fleck Fellowship.
Encompassing a broad range of arts and media practice, his arts management, curating and artwork have been internationally acknowledged. Previously he was Founding Director at Hull Time Based Arts (HTBA). During his career, Mike has commissioned more than 250 interactive, site-specific, performative, sonic and moving image- based art works.
Mike’s own internationally commissioned artwork encompasses broadcast, film, video art, large-scale public projections and new media installation.
In addition, Mike is an award-winning and respected moving image artist. Mike's work encompasses film, video, mixed media installations, performance and curation. He has won more than a dozen major international awards including first prizes at the Oberhausen and Locarno Film Festivals. And in 1999, he was invited to present a video retrospective of his work at the Tate Gallery in London. A selection of his work was featured at the 2003 Adelaide International Film Festival
Stephen McGroarty, Communications Advisor
Stephen McGroarty has managed written and strategic communications for more than 15 years at both the World Bank and the United Nations. He has led and implemented strategic communications plans, advised on and developed marketing and social media campaigns, and managed conference and event planning. He holds a Master’s in International Development from University College Dublin and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Rutgers University
Mark Bolotin, Co- Founder
Mark Bolotin is an award-winning multi-media artist, inventor and creature creator. He has produced large-scale multimedia work for institutions and festivals across the world including the Sydney Opera House, the New York Hall of Science, the Museum of Modern Art in Zagreb, Burning Man, SXSW, and the Museum of Contemporary Art (Sydney). Mark works at the forefront of immersive art and interactive technology and is also the artistic director of the Australian multimedia company Synarcade Audio-Visuals. In addition, he has run multimedia workshops for diverse communities across the world including in Australia, China, Mali, Uganda, Kenya and the US.
Mark Shekter, Business Advisor
Mark Shekter is a musician, writer, business strategist, author, media producer, entrepreneur, and educator. He is co-founder and CEO of two companies: Think8 Systems, a consulting firm, and First Star International, a media production company. Mark uses his broad experience in the business of ground-breaking ideas and critical thinking as a strategist and media consultant for corporations, organizations, and entrepreneurs internationally, bringing his expertise and breakthrough systems in Creative Thinking and Management to maximize an individual’s full potential to achieve spectacular results.
Gerald Prolman is the Executive Vice President of Business Development at Wildlife Works, the world’s leading REDD (reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation) project development and management company with a unique approach to applying innovative market based solutions to the conservation of biodiversity.
Rose Kuo is the founder of Festworks, a consulting firm which focuses on film content and strategy. Ms. Kuo was a senior executive at Dalian Wanda Group, a Fortune 500 real estate and film entertainment company, serving as key advisor on the seven billion dollar Qingdao Movie Metropolis in China and spearheading the Qingdao International Film Festival project. Previously, Ms Kuo was the Executive Director of the Film Society of Lincoln Center, leading a major period of artistic growth and transformation, and building the state-of-the-art Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center. In 2013, Daily Variety Magazine named her one of The Gotham 50 and she received the Athena Award from Athena Film Festival. As Artistic Director of AFI FEST, she was the architect of the “free film festival” filmathropy model for the American Film Institute, earning her the International Film Festival Summit’s Excellence Award. Ms Kuo began her career in film production working with renowned directors Martin Scorsese, Paul Schrader, Ed Zwick and Michael Mann. She directed the documentary short “California AIDS Ride” and “Healthy Living” series for cable television. She regularly serves on film festival juries and panels worldwide.
Marc Routh is an acclaimed Broadway and international theatre producer. His current and recent productions are AMELIE, ANASTASIA, THE ENCOUNTER, IN TRANSIT, and AN AMERICAN IN PARIS (12 Tony Award Nominations including Best Musical) on Broadway, STOMP (Drama Desk Award and Obie Award for Unique Theatre Experience), and Feinstein’s/54 Below, Broadway’s award-winning nightclub. He is a 4 time Tony Award winner for THE NORMAN CONQUESTS, COMPANY, HAIRSPRAY, and THE PRODUCERS. As president of Broadway Asia, his current productions include Jay Chou’s THE SECRET based on the award-winning film, NEVERLAND: The Peter Pan Immersive Entertainment, and CHINA GOES POP.
Hyphen Hub is a New York-based non-profit organization that explores, promotes, and presents radical new visions of the future through the integration of art and emerging technologies.
It produces innovative live performances, art salons, and organizes large and small scale installations. It also serves as a platform for a global community of artists, engineers, designers, performers and tech innovators to connect, share information and collaborate.
Hyphen Hub partners with tech companies and international organizations with the goal of raising awareness of social and economic issues.
